Here is a last post about my pregnancy...
The last three months of pregnancy are quite intense for most women - the belly is getting really heavy, its more and more difficult to breathe and many women experience problems with heartburn, nausea and fatigue.
For me it was first in the really end of my pregnancy that I began feeling very tired. I felt great in the 7th and 8th month and I had much more energy than I had in the beginning of my pregnancy. I drove my bicycle every day, I went to my yoga classes and I had the energy to go grocery shopping, going for long walks and to spend lots of time in the kitchen, cooking and baking :)
The last four weeks then became a little more tiring. I could no longer walk for more than maybe 30 minutes because the pressure on the pelvis got really strong in the last four weeks of pregnancy. Some days it was that painful that I could not walk at all (towards the last few days...). In the last four weeks I also had to throw up for the first time during the entire pregnancy (most women have these kind of problems in the first trimester but there I did not experience anything like this). It had severe heartburn every night and I found it more and more difficult to get a good rest at night, because of the huge belly, the heartburn and the baby moving around in the belly.
I spent a lot of time just sitting with friends (or with my husband) drinking tea, enjoying the Spring weather or staying on the sofa, reading or studying. I enjoyed these last weeks, even though it was a little difficult sometimes with all these small aches and pains.
However, I also had to go to lots of doctors appointments, I had to go to the hospital several times and I was visiting different midwifes... in some sense the last few weeks were rather stressful, but I will make a post about all of this soon!
During the third trimester, we also bought lots of stuff for the baby, we bought a beautiful prams, my husband made a baby changer, we bought lots of small things, such as woolen blankets, a lambskin to sleep on during the day and things for the bathroom. We changed around in the appartment and slowly everything got ready for the arrival of our little girl. Since we prepared the apartment step by step, our baby became more and more present step by step.
In the end we felt sooooo ready for her to arrive and it was difficult to wait :)
Here I am, with a first no-more-belly outfit :)
Well actually, there is still some belly left... since it takes a little until everything is gone - but yet, there is no more baby belly in this outfit and it somehow feels good to wear clothes again which did not fit in the last couple of months.
So how do you like my first after-pregnancy look? The blouse/dress I am wearing is from sheinside and you can find it here. I really like it beacuse I am able to wear it as a dress or as a blouse. This time I am wearing it as a dress but I think it will also look really cool when I tuck into a pair of jeans.
So do you think I look different, now that I am a mom? I have to say that I feel different - somehow a little more confident actually!
Those of you who are a mom too, did you feel different after giving birth to your first child? In which way? Did you also experience feeling more confident?
I really would love to know!
I will share more about how I feel now and also about my third trimester as soon as I find some time. The days are just passing way too fast since the little one arrived. So I do not really find that much time to prepare longer blog posts. But lets see, maybe next week I will be able to write a little more :)
Until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and I wish you all a most wonderful weekend!
Sending you much love!
In March and April a few new pieces entered my wardrobe...
... and as I shared in my last my purchases post I want to share my purchases on my blog, to be able to get a better overview of what I buy, what I really like and what I maybe should not have bought.
So here are my March and April purchases:
A floral sweater from C&A on sale - 4 Euro - I LOVE it! I wear it a looooot :) I posted one outfit with it and it may make it on my blog again...
Two shirts from the Lands End online shop - 20 Euro each - I also LOVE them I wear them a lot, also during pregnancy. Cant wait to see what they look like on me now that the belly is gone. I am sure they will make it in an outfit post very soon.
Two blouses on sale from the ONLY online shop: 15 Euro each - LOVE them! I was wearing the right one today (now it finally fits!) and I wore the left one a lot during pregnancy and will of course also wear it a lot now that the belly is gone.
A blazer and a blouse from sheinside (for free)- you can find the blazer here and the blouse here - I love both pieces! I was not yet able to wear them outside (today was the first day where I went outside the house!) but I will very soon and they will certainly be on my blog again very soon.
And then I also got a few accessoires... like these four scarfs, all on sale from C&A for 2,50 Euro each!
And these shoes for some 25 Euro - I was badly in need for a pair of black shoes! They are absolutely comfy and I wear them almost every day these days!
I also got a hand bag on sale from C&A for some 6 Euro which you can see in this post
Total: 115 Euro
I am quite happy with what I bought this month and last month - I did not spend too much money and I got only things I really really love! I actually ordered a lot more from ONLY and Lands End but I ended up sending almost everything back since I really want to learn to keep only the items I truely love. My husband had to help me a little but I managed in the end to send almost everything back ;)
Compared to my last "my purchases" post, I spent a little more in March in April but still, I think, not too much. Also, I love the things I bought in these two months much more than the ones I got in January and February (when looking back at them now...). I am really happy with my purchases and I hope the next two months will go at least as good as these two :)
How did you do this month with your shopping? Did you get a few new items for Spring into your wardrobe?
These days, I feel like I need to spoil myself...
...after giving birth, I think its especially important to spoil yourself with good products for your skin and hair. The days after delivery, the body is working extremely hard to recover and I think also the skin and hair needs some extra attention in these stressful days, where the whole body is working hard.
I love to spoil myself with some really good organic products from Love me Green.
I love to use my face mask to relax when the baby is sleeping and I have some time for myself. I need these small moments to spoil my skin and to take care of myself a lot these days. Of course its wonderful to have the baby around all the time, but its also important to think of myself from time to time :)
I also really like my Love me Green hand cream which I use several times a day. Its so good to know that its 100% natural so that I can use it all the time and I do never have to be afraid that my baby gets in contact with some bad ingredients from my hands.
You may remember that I already wrote about this brand some two months ago in this post. I am recommending this brand again today, because I am really convinced by their products (after using them for more than two months now) and I would like to support this new (and still rather small) brand.
So,about the baby...
... I am really really grateful for all your thoughts and good wishes! I think its amazing how many people all around the world are sending good wishes to our little baby girl. She is a week old today and she is perfect! We are so grateful and happy about her! She is the most amazing gift we ever got and we are overwhelmed every day, again and again.
I am going to make maybe another few posts related to pregnancy and babies but I am going to keep her privacy and I will not publish any images of her on my blog. I hope you all understand!?
Have a most wonderful weekend everyone! And thank you again for your good wishes!
Now this is my last maternity look!
It has everything I love at the moment - light pink, floral prints and grey. The sweater is a new one which I actually bought for after pregnancy but then I could not wait wearing it and I was really happy to see that its fits on top of my belly :)
I hope you enjoy this last matenity look of mine. I will be back soon with new outfits... I guess from now on I will have to change my style in a way that makes it easy for me to breastfeed with whatever I am wearing. This is going to be a new challenge and I am looking forward to it. In case you have any tips or tricks or inspirations - please let me know!!!
I hope you are all doing good and I am sorry, I am not that active in the bloggersphere right now. I am sure you are all able to understand that I prepared some posts in advance to be able to spend quality time with my new born. As soon as we get a routine, I will be back for real :)
Until then, I hope you keep coming around my blog :)
A casual Spring outfit...
So here I am wearing a H&M blouse on top of a simple white shirt, a H&M maternity jeans, some really old sneakers and my floral scarf from C&A. I like the lace details on the dark bloue blouse- it gives this casual outfit a little bit of an extra :)
As you can maybe tell from my last outfit post, the floral scarf became one of my new favorite items pretty quick. I bought it some two weeks ago and I am wearing it a lot since. I actually got a small bunch of new scarfs for Spring and Summer the other day, when there was a 50% off all reduced items at C&A. I made some pretty good deals and I will show you what I got (next to the one I wear here) in the coming weeks.
Actually, while you are looking at these pictures and reading these words, my belly is already gone!
I will tell you more soon... for now, this post was prepared in advance which means that I cannot tell you yet how I feel and how my baby is doing. But I will soon, I promise!
Today I want to share with you my favorite recipe for a vegan lasagna...
...there are millions of recipes for vegan lasagna out there but I like this one best - its without soy/tofu, its incredibly delicious and healthy.
Here is what you need:
The veggies:
1-2 zucchini
1-2 eggplants
Mushrooms (as many as you like)
Spinach (if you like - I sometimes add spinach and sometimes I just leave it)
The tomatoe sauce:
Some celery
Onion
Garlic
Tomatoe puree/tomatoe sauce
Salt and Pepper
Some italian herbs
The "bechamel" sauce:
Margarine or coconut fat
Flour
Milk of your choice (I usually use homemade cashew milk)
Nutmeg
Salt and pepper
For the "cheese":
Almonds (or almond butter)
Yeast flaked
Sweet pepper powder
Salt and pepper
Some water
And of course: Lasagna slices
How to do:
For the tomatoe sauce:
Cut the celery, onion and garlic into small pieces, fry in a pan or pot, add tomatoe purree or tomatoe sauce, herbs and salt and pepper. Easy :)
For the bechamel sauce:
Allow the margarine or coconut fat to melt in a pot, add some flour. Then add milk of your choice and wait until the sauce gets thick. If you need to, add more flour. Then add nutmeg, salt and pepper to your taste.
After having made the two sauces, cut the zucchini and eggplant into slices and fry them carefully from both sides in a pan (or grill them) so that they get soft.
Also cut the mushrooms into pieces and fry them.
Now you can start the layering - I always start with the lasagna slices, then I add tomatoe sauce and then I put the first layer of zucchini... then I put bechamel sauce on top, take some lasagna slices again and continue with the tomatoe sauce - veggies - bechamel- lasagna slices and so on...
You can add the mushrooms at the end or in between, you can also add spinach or other veggies if you like.
... finally, I make my "cheese". For the cheese I take almonds (without the skin) or almond butter and I mix them in my high speed blender with some water, yeast flakes, sweet pepper powder, salt and pepper until I get a smooth paste. I add the paste on top of the last layering (usually my mushrooms which I put on top).
I leave the lasagna in the oven at around 200°C for some 40 minutes.
Enjoy your vegan veggie lasagna :)
This is actually one of my favorite dishes on earth and I can really totally recommend it! In case you tried it, please let me know if you also liked it that much!
And I would love to know what your favorite recipe for lasagna is like! Which ingredients do you like best in your lasagna? Plain meat or tofu or veggies or...??? I would love to know :)
