We are catching Spring moments these days...
The other day we went for a walk while waiting for my little cousin to be done with her swimming class. We found this really nice path alongside gardens and fields.
The blouse I am wearing is from the U.S. I bought it online at the Land's End sale shop and I love it so much that I got a similar one in green and red :)
Do you know this feeling when you love a piece so much that you want the same one in all different colors? Today I am wearing the almost same blouse in green :)
Oh yes, and I got my hair cut a little again. I like it when it is short like that but I don't like that all the blonde which is coming from the sun is disappearing every time I cut it... now I will have to wait again for some sunshine before I get blonder again. Anyhow. The sun is shining today so I will not complain :)
A simple outfit for the only sunny day this week...
Yesterday was a most beautiful Day and I spend it outside, enjoying the sun and playing games with my little cousins. In the morning we went for walk to take some pictures of my rather simple outfit and to get out of the house/ garden for once. Today it's raining again.... time for more puzzles and reading and tea :)
The other Day I went to explore my city again...
since I was gone for quite a while it is now nice to explore my city again and to find again all my favorite places.
This Park is the one I usually go to when I want to get some sun or some green around me :)
Today I will travel a little and go to the city of Bremen where I have family. I will stay there for the next week and spend some time with my cousins. Its always nice to be there and to get some family- life, some good food and some quiet time :)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!
Since I am back in Germany I started thrifting again...
The other day I found this wonderful lace dress for 1,50Euro. It was a really happy day :)
Happy mid- week everyone!
Do you cook with bananas sometimes?
For this curry you have to cut an onion into small pieces and fry it together with two mashed bananas. Add a lot of curry into the mashed bananas and fry for maybe two minutes.
You then add veggies of your choice and cook everything in 2 cups of white wine.
Cook it until the veggies are soft and the wine is gone and then just add some joghurt that you mixed with fresh parsley. Add also chili, salt and black pepper. Take as much joghurt as you want to have sauce. Don't cook the joghurt but add it after you turned off the oven.
The curry tastes somehow different from others because of the bananas and the white wine and I really liked it, when I tried to cook it for the first time this weekend :)
Tomorrow I will cook some Pakistani food and I hope it will be good :)
I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend!? I did work too much on my thesis and feel like I am wasting my time on this ;)
In between I cooked to de-stress and to have a good reason for getting away from my desk. Besides this curry I cooked a grilled- veggies- lasagna and a lot of different things with green asparagus (I get them so cheap on the market these days so I can't resists and buy way too much... ). And then I got 3 kilos of strawberries and had one strawberry shake after the other during my thesis- writing :)
Have a great week!!!
Since I am back from the US I am trying all Thai and Vietnamese restaurants I can find around here...
I am looking everywhere for fresh Spring rolls and for some authentic Thai or Vientamese food. BUT unfortunately it is really really difficult to find around here! This is really something I love about the US- the fact that one can find really good authentic cuisine from all over the world. Here you have a bunch of restaurants with food from all over the world too but everything is adapted to German taste and it's not very authentic. It's actually quite boring and somehow sad, at least for me because I really love the real Asian cuisine.
Well, I will contiune looking (next month I will quite some time in Berlin maybe I will find something there) or maybe I should just try to make fresh Spring roles myself!?
Oh yes, and to connect the whole story about my search for fresh Spring rolls to the picutres: I also love Mango juice and everytime I try another Thai or Vientemse restaurant, I get some Mango juice. So those pictures were taken after a nice German- Vietnamese lunch when I walked around with my can of Mango juice :)
Last year there was a wonderful coffeeshop/ coffeegarden around this little lighthouse...
The
other day I went there for coffee but unfortunately the coffeeplace is
no longer there and the whole area is under construction.
Now it's a good place to take pictures but I really miss the coffee and the nice atmosphere, sitting there at the canal, drinking coffee and enjoying the sunshine...
The scarf I am wearing is a cashmere scarf from the Cashmere reagion itself! My friend from Pakistan gave it to me as a gift :)
I really love it- especially because of its history :)
My bag is from Ghana and it is my favorite ever. It broke the other day so I will take it to the saddler today...
I am leaving for a little weekend- escape to the city next door now :)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
A salt- lavender- olive- oil scrub to prepapre for summer...
As promised, here is a first DIY for cosmetics.
For this Body Scrub you only need some coarse salt, lavender, and olive oil.
You can just mix the three ingredients together in a bowl, or you can put all of it in a small jar and store it.
Its
pretty easy made and it's really good in the beginning of summer to get
rid of dead skin and stuff.
And depending on how much lavender you put
into it, it does also smell very good and relaxes :)
A summerly outfit
Even
though the weather here is not as good as it was back in Ohio, I am
somehow very happy to have my closet back and to have more choice when
thinking about what to wear :)
The other day we went for a nice thai- lunch at the canal and this is what I was wearing...
Since yesterday I am back in Germany...
I arrived in Berlin when my great friend L, my fiance and my mother picked me up from the airport. It was a wonderful welcome comittee :)
I took the train to my city later that day and had a great dinner with my brother and friends.
I am still quite jetlagged and my bags are still packed but still we just went for a nice walk and some vietnamese food :)
I
still don't know how to feel about being home. I somehow feel homesick-
for my place in the US! Even though I love my flat and my friends here,
I really miss Athens and my friends over there!
Now I will try to readapt to life here and enjoy as much as possible :)
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
This is the Day...
I am super sad and to say Goodbye to this wonderful place! I promise to come back next year!
Now I will take the bus to Cincinatti where I will spend the day with my two best friends- they will take me to the airport tomorrow morning...
I will be back in Germany on Friday and you will hopefully hear from me on Saturday :)
Have a good time everyone and see you back in Germany!
Hey!
I am back from the most wonderful weekend in Buffalo with an awesome day spend at the Niagara Falls.
I am super tired and exhausted from the long journey and from thinking about spending the whole day tomorrow packing my stuff to go back to Germany.
Now I need a rest...
hope you all had a wonderful weekend too.
And I can definetly recommend Buffalo and Niagara Falls to everyone!!! :)
